I see your head, bobbing
in the waves, a length
away from mine; You
stare silently, breathing
water, but bubbles, in your
mouth.
We are in deep water,
where the ocean is a heavy
allure beneath us, our
limbs suspended, unsure;
You plaster your bangs
back.
I suddenly feel a smile
light up my eyes at you;
how close we are, and
you are still quietly
bobbing.
In our moment, the vision
pulls back, and there are
1 million people hanging
in the waves around us,
looking at each other,
silently.
