Saturday

"There are places I want to be that I cannot," I said, toeing the dirt.

He sighed, looking at me sideways.  "There are places I've never been where I'll never be."

"Where we'll never be," I corrected him.

He shrugged.  "You do what you want."

I held my breath.  His brown hair fell in front of his grey eyes.  I looked at the sky, watching the clouds whip quickly through their forms like a cartoon movie.  I saw an old man.  I saw a small child, growing backwards into a cell.  I saw a whale, a rabbit, a tiger, a turtle.  Then, I saw a snail, struggling slowly across the sky.

"Yes," I decided.  I will go to those in-between places, and I will go with adventure.
